Last night The New Hoxton Hotel embraced girl power and welcomed a swarm of innovative thinkers, go-getters, self-starters and hosted the Female Business Ballers Celebration Night and Fundraising Party. With thanks to The Female Entrepreneurs Organisation in association with ELLE, we at Rentez-Vous had the pleasure of showcasing amongst 20 female founded startups and mingling with a room full of inspiring women in business.
The FEO is the kind of incubation programme that female entrepreneurs dream of – it aims to empower women to style their lives and live in style, and founder, Lu Li, perfectly epitomises this philosophy. A baller if there ever was one, Lu Li’s mission is to help women grab life by the horns and steer it in the direction they choose. As well as providing the traditional support you’d expect from an incubation programme (networking, mentoring, a financial boost), the FEO also provides personal styling, mastermind circles and extra tools to support women to become successful and joyous business owners.
FEO certainly delivered on its promise to provide us with top key note speakers, experienced businesswomen and mentors and the chance to meet more like-minded female entrepreneurs than I could ever fit into this blog post, so here are just three of the lady ballers in attendance last night.
Inspired by the diversity of ethnic fashion in her native country, Colombian born designer, baller (and occasional Rentez-Vous model!), Daniela Castellanos founded her fashion brand Castellano Ethnic Origin from the desire to use fashion to reconnect women with some of the most secluded and skilful tribes in the world – the Wayuu and the Arhuaca. The bracelets and handbags that make up her line are all authentic pieces, handwoven by indigenous Colombian communities. By embellishing with leather and Swarovksi crystals, Daniella’s pieces are a beautiful combination of luxury, eco-friendly fashion, something we here at Rentez-Vous are all about!
Ever wished you could have had a second opinion in the fitting room? Well with looksgoodonme you can… all of the time! LGOM is a fantastic new app that transforms your friends into a circle of personal fashion advisors at your fingertips. Step 1) select your circle of friends. Step 2) take a selfie and use the app to share it with your entourage. Step 3) receive a simple “yes” or “no” answer with optional comments. It really is as simple as 1,2,3!! Looks good on me has the potential to completely transform the shopping experience and save us from buying things we needn’t (or just shouldn’t) be buying. Tatjana hopes for the app to be globally recognised as the number one Social Shopping App and with a concept so simple yet effective, we can’t imagine this taking long. BALLER!
Our third and final female ballers are a duo who will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth! The Glamorous Jam Co. was launched just three weeks ago by sisters Kimberley and Nicolla Wilson. The vision for their product is simple: Jam. Upgraded. Handmade in small batches from fresh fruit, spices and aromatics, these indulgent jams hope to bring their customer’s a little bit of everyday luxury. Runner up in The Great British Bake Off, Kimberley clearly didn’t leave her love for kitchen experimentation on set, as these come in an array of exciting flavours. From Strawberries & Champagne to my personal favourite Blackberry & Amaretto and, for all you non-alcoholics, Orange & Cardamom, these versatile treats can completely transform a tea party. With a portion of their profits supporting local and international charities, these high-end conserves aim to make a difference to the global community, as well as your breakfast.
THANK YOU AGAIN TO ALL WHO MADE THIS EVENT POSSIBLE
